Bio

Patricia Engel's latest novel, The Veins of the Ocean, was named a New York Times Editors' Choice. She is also the author of the acclaimed books, Vida and It’s Not Love, It’s Just Paris. Vida, her debut, was a New York Times Notable Book of 2010, a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway Fiction Award, New York Public Library Young Lions Fiction Award, and Paterson Fiction Award, winner of the Florida Book Award, International Latino Book Award, and Independent Publisher Book Award, and longlisted for The Story Prize and Dayton Literary Peace Prize. Born to Colombian parents and raised in New Jersey, Patricia currently lives in Miami and is Literary Editor of the Miami Rail.

Lindy West

Bio

Lindy West is a columnist at The Guardian, a contributor to This American Life, and a freelance writer whose work focuses on feminism, social justice, humor, and body image. Her work has appeared in the New York TimesCosmopolitanGQVultureJezebelThe Stranger, and others. West won the 2013 Women's Media Center Social Media Award and was nominated for and won The Stranger's Genius Award for books in 2016.
